Vertical loops are perfect for:
Small properties.
Wooded home sites.
Locations with shallow bedrock where trenching is not
practical.
Preferred spacing for safe working clearance is 15 to 20 feet apart.
Be located so as not to intrude upon utility easements, sanitary systems, water wells, underground utilities.
Be no closer than 10 feet to any foundation.
Typical vertical loops in Central Ohio are:
Drilled on 10 feet centers.
Drilled to a depth of 150 feet for each ton (12,000 BTU) of system capacity.
Require work sites with no overhead obstructions to interfer with raising, lowering of the drill tower (+/- 40 feet of tower height).
Require relatively level stabile soil suffcient to support up to 25 tons of drilling equipment.
Must be at least 10 feet from any foundation.
Must not interfer with easements or underground utilities.

| Following these guidelines, a vertical loop for a typical 4 ton size system could feasibly be located in an area 30'x30' (10'x10' well location with a 10' clearance to surrunding structures). |
